PDF Files and PDF Reader

Import PDF files in Kosmik: Drag-and-drop PDFs onto the canvas, click the file icon in the toolbar, or press I to open the file picker.

  • **Read PDF files in Kosmik:**Y ou can either read PDF files on the canvas (click on a PDF, and use the arrows in the edit dock to navigate between pages). You can also open PDF files in the side panel (by clicking on the first icon in the edit dock or using the shift+space shortcut).

  • Use the PDF side panel to capture sections from PDF files: The side panel allows you to display previews of your PDF content, use the table of content if your PDF contains one, or capture sections from a page on the canvas.

  • Capture content from a PDF file: To capture an area of a PDF page, click on the Capture button to the left of the page counter in the side panel reader and click-and-drag over the area you’d like to capture. Click “Extract” and the fragment will be positioned in the middle of the canvas.

  • What can I do with fragments captured from a PDF file? Captured fragments are saved as images on the canvas. When you select them you can check their source and re-open the original document at the correct locatin.

  • Are fragments auto-tagged? Yes. They are auto-tagged like any other items.
